GREEN LOGISTICS – Logistics as an instrument for tackling climate change
The study investigated the theme of logistics as an instrument for tackling climate change.
The study identified a number of “best practices” according to 8 fields of intervention: supply chains organisation, product and packaging rationalisation, efficient vehicle utilisation, fuel efficiency through driver behaviour, technological innovation, modal switch in favour of rail and waterborne, communication and training initiatives, compensative measures. For each field successful case studies were shown, as demonstration of the feasibility of specific interventions.
