The study provided insights on the factors affecting labour supply and demand, including the impacts of the EU legislation and the effects of the 2008 economic downturn.

The study analysed the multiplicity of factors affecting labour supply and demand.

The study further assessed how the measures adopted at EU and national level affected the driver shortage and its quality ‘mismatch’, and concluded with recommendations addressing  structurally the problem of shortage of qualified drivers and personnel in road freight transport.
