Estimation Of Goods Flows In And Out The North of Italy

The study quantified the freight transport market for 5 regions of Northern Italy, and identified the main actors of the logistics chain.

Study activities focused on:

• analysis of statistical data on import/export of maritime container;
• Interview of maritime/inland terminal operators to understand the routes followed by containers in the inland transport (modes and terminals used);
• surveying shippers to investigate market strategic decisions taken by shippers and forwarders;
• quantifying the market share of container transport transiting via the northern range port system.
