Study on the social and working conditions of road transport hauliers

The study discussed the EU legislation relevant to social aspects and access to the market and profession regarding the road freight transport sector.

Current social and working conditions of professional drivers were described with particular emphasis on issues such as: employment schemes, problems raised in the enforcement of the European legislation and quality of life.

The study formulated recommendations intended to support the decision-making process of EU institutions for improving the social and working conditions of professional drivers.
